Title: WKnock Project
Author: Laurent OUDOT <oudot@rstack.org>
Version: 1.0 (Black Hat version)

WKnock is a proof of concept that aims at hiding WLAN Access Point by using
Knocking technologies. This tool and this concept were released for the first
time during Black Hat Europe and Black Hat Asia in march and april 2005.

I was fed-up to see some attackers trying to get an access on some of my AP
while I was not at home. I tried most current possibilities proposed in the
default firmware of my APs. A special mode called "closed mode" or "no essid
broadcast mode" (depending of the constructor) was proposed, but to me, it was
not enough secure because evil attackers could still guess there is an AP.

I finally decided to create my own tools on a GPL Firmware, and to install it
on my AP. Thanks to that solution, wardrivers and opportunistic attackers
won't be able to see such WLAN Networks anymore.

The tool could be seen as the equivalent of Port Knocking but for the WLAN
world. It was first implement for a Linux on a laptop, and then it was ported
to a MIPS based architecture : the Linksys WRT54GS, with a firmware called
OpenWRT (http://openwrt.org/).
